The GL Account Entry and Maintenance module is used to manage the General Ledger Accounts.  General Ledger Accounts are the accounts that track Assets, Expenses, Liabilities, Revenue, ETC.   
GL Account Look Up - The GL Account Look Up is used to retrieve an existing GL Account for update or change.
GL Account No - The GL Account No. field is used to display the system defined account number.  The GL Account No. field is not editable.
Posted Account Balance - The posted account balance field is used to show the actual balance posted.  The posted balance represents a total of all Journal Voucher credits and Debits.  The posted balance is the actual account balance.  The Posted Account Balance field is not editable
Running Account Balance - The running account balance field is an account balancing field.  This field represents a running total of credits and debits.  The running Account Balance is an informational field only and can be edited or changed.   
Balance Account Button- The Balance Account Button is used to balance the Posted and the Running Balance Fields.  
GL Type - The GL Type field is used to display or select the current General Ledger Account Type.  The GL Type can be selected from among the following: Asset, Liability, Expense, Revenue, Retained Earnings, Contra Liability, Contra-Asset. 
GL Type - The GL Type field is used to display or select the current General Ledger Account Type.  The GL Type can be selected from among the following: Asset, Liability, Expense, Revenue, Retained Earnings, Contra Liability, Contra-Asset. 
GL Balance - The GL Balance field is used to view of change the current account balance.  The current account balance field is running total field.  The GL Balance field can not be used to change the Income Worksheet.  The Income Worksheet figures are computed based on actual JV entries.
GL Account Name - The GL Account Name field is used to display the name of the General Ledger Account. 
GL Account Description - The GL Account Description field is used to provide additional detail on the name, type and purpose of the account.  The description field has a maximum limit of 255 characters.
